The Investor visa allows successful investors to reside in Australia on a permanent basis. To qualify for this visa, you must hold a provisional Investor visa, and have maintained a designated investment in Australia for at least four years. The minimum requirements for this visa are set out below:

Applicant

As the visa applicant, you must:

  • hold a provisional Investor visa (subclass 162)
  • have been in Australia as the holder of that visa for a total of at least two years during the last four years

Entrepreneur Activities

At the time that you lodge your application, you must have demonstrated that you have a successful record of undertaking entrepreneurial activities in Australia while you held your subclass 188 visa in the Entrepreneur stream.

NOTES: The success of your entrepreneurial activity will be measured be a number of ‘success factors’, including (but not limited to): employment of Australians; annual turnover; receipt of ongoing funding/investment; filing or acquisition of a patent; entry into partnership with a university; and sale of the venture.

Entrepreneurial activities must NOT be related to residential real estate, labour hire or the purchase of an existing enterprise or franchise in Australia.
